RECREATION MANAGER:  CLOSING DATE – June 8 @ 2pm.  Permanent position, responsible for leadership, delivery, operation & administration of all recreation, parks & facility services & events.  Post-secondary education in Recreation or Sports Management, etc., minimum five years’ experience in a recreation environment, preference to those with municipal experience.  NEW


PAID INTERNSHIP:  The ideal person will need to be reasonably fit and interested in living in the bush and learning to run a homestead. Duties will include: care for the various animals, garden chores, helping haul logs and mill wood, harvesting and preserving food, processing chickens and pigs, chaga and other wild harvesting, fence building, other small carpentry projects. No experience necessary but an interest in living and working on a farm in the bush, plus a good work ethic and positive attitude is essential. 1. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR:  CLOSING DATE - June 4 @ 4pm.  Permanent, full-time.  This position is responsible for managing, coordinating and processing of accounts payable in accordance to the TH Policies and procedures and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by a diploma or coursework in bookkeeping or accounting or a minimum of  2 year's experience working  in a computerized finance or accounting office.

FARM CREW SUPERVISOR: CLOSING DATE - June 4 @ 4pm;  Term, asap - September 15, responsible for a number of duties such as: employee supervision, animal care and processing, sales and marketing, general carpentry, maintenance and operation of farm equipment, general maintenance of farm buildings, supplies pick -up and delivery, experience  and ability in supervising and providing directions to employees, experience in general maintenance, construction, mechanical operations and repairs of farm equipment and using hand and electrical tools.

1a) HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC (NOC 7312):  Year-round with off season repairs & maintenance.  Located three hours from Dawson City with room & board provided.  Have over four years of work experience & industry courses in heavy equipment repair to service, diagnose & repair D 475 Komatsu Dozer, 470 Hitachi excavators), etc.

1b)  ROCK TRUCK DRIVERS:  needed ASAP until October, experience is an asset, must have valid driver's license & clean driver's abstract.    NEW

2a) GENERAL OPPORTUNITIES:  Accepting applications for future positions in a local mine.

2b) ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, but must also work outside those regular hours for sampling events on site, with field work of 10-12 hour days, Knowledge of Yukon Legislations, including but not limited to the Quartz Mining Act, Waters Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act, BSc in Environmental Science, or related (biology, chemistry, geology) Must be able to spend time at remote camps for extended periods as needed.   

3.  EXPLORATION FIELD CREWS: For the 2020 summer season, require individuals to work remotely in small teams based out of wall-tent camps for extended periods of time. Collecting soil samples and assisting with geophysics surveys in remote locations, Geology/Earth Sciences students and graduates who bring strong outdoors experience and skills (i.e. Bear Aware, backwoods camping, handheld Garmin GPS navigation), must be a physically active outdoor enthusiasts who are wilderness savvy (Wilderness First Aid Certification has proven to be a strong asset), First Aid certified individuals - level C & AED (This is a requirement), physically fit persons, who can lift and carry 60+ lbs backpacks across mountainous terrain.

1)  COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH NURSE:  CLOSING DATE – June 12 or until the position is filled.  Permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.  Responsible for conducting mental health assessments and developing treatment plans; providing mental health counselling or treatment to clients and/or referral and consultation with other human service providers, family members and members of the public, etc.

1)  CUSTODIAN:  auxiliary on-call positions available to work flexible hours, days, nights, split shifts, anytime.  Ability to work alone & complete daily tasks required unsupervised.   NEW

2)  DAYCARE:  SUPERVISOR (FLOATER)  18 month temporary maternity leave cover, working 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday.  Ensure the health, safety, and progress of each child and help guide children in play and routine, give appropriate help, suggestions, direction, and encouragement.  Coursework relevant to the Early Childcare Educator field.

2) LAND AND RESOURCES MANAGER:  Open to the public with preferential hiring policies for TH Citizens.  Permanent, assists in the development and delivery of TH acts, policies and procedures as they pertain to land and resource management.  Post-secondary diploma related to Land Use Planning and/or Resource Management, or the equivalent in training and experience. 

3) EDUCATION SUPPORT WORKER:  Full-time, term (start date: To be determined, end date: March 31, 2022). The ESW proactively provides support to TH students and their families to ensure that learning outcomes are successful, and to generally facilitate the overall educational, personal, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of TH students including those with special needs.  Minimum High School Grade 12 (or equivalency) and Diploma/Degree in Education, Social Work, Counselling, or a related academic field of study combined with experience working with First Nations students, schools, and communities.  An equivalent combination of education, knowledge, skills and experience may be considered.

4) IN-HOME FAMILY WORKER:   Full-time term (start date to be determined, end date: 14 month term with possible extension).  Responsible for providing in-home and community support services in various formats to high risk families and citizens, particularly those who are survivors of residential schools and/or have suffered the intergenerational impacts of residential schools.  Grade 12 with a BSW diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology or other related fields; an equivalent combination of education, training, skills and experience in this field may be considered.

5) FAMILY COUNSELLOR:  Full-time, 14 month term with possible extension (start date to be determined)  Responsible for overseeing, planning and delivering of prevention-based family counselling and therapeutic programming that relates to the mental and emotional wellness of TH families, youth and children.  Grade 12 with a Masters Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other related fields. Significant equivalent and relevant work experience may be considered.

5.  MEN'S EMERGENCY SHELTER COORDINATOR:  Term starting immediately to June 11, 2021.  Responsible for oversight & coordination of the safe operation of the day-to-day activities of the facilities including design & delivery of program activities, evaluation of services.  Minimum of two years college preferred, with area of study in addictions, psychology, sociology, human or child development or other human or social services. Demonstrated experience in working with people experiencing homelessness or low income families.   NEW

You must be a skilled and experienced senior-level administrative professional who has a track record for establishing and maintaining a positive and professional rapport with internal and external customers and stakeholders at all times. Experience with managing budgets and coordinating events is an asset. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an office (and ideally, government) environment.

1)  CAB COMPANY:  one full-time DRIVER needed five days a week, two part-time drivers for weekends.  Must provide a Driver's Abstract, Criminal Record Check and have a Class 4 drivers license or Class 1, 2, or 3.

2)  CHARTER BUS COMPANY - SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS:  must have a clean driver's abstract and pass a criminal records check and drug and alcohol test. Field Assistant needed for Clinton Creek Surface Water Monitoring Program.  An availability list is being compiled for local field technicians to assist with the quarterly surface water monitoring program at the Clinton Creek Abandoned Mine Site. This work takes place over three to four consecutive days once in summer (July), fall (October) and winter (February). Responsibilities include assisting with on-site logistics, hydrology measurements, water quality sample collection and surveying.  Preference will be given to: (1) citizens of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and (2) residents of the Dawson City area; all are encouraged to apply.
